Gordon Stobbe - Master Fiddler
Gordon Stobbe

Gordon Stobbe, Master Fiddler, is once again welcomed back as our lead educator and instructor. Having been with the Ship’s Company Fiddle Camp since its inception, he is respected as a musician, composer and educator. With eleven instructional books to his credit, and seven audio recordings, Gordon is recognized across the country as a one of the foremost voices in fiddle instruction.


Kelli Trottier - fiddle instructor
Kelli Trottier

Kelli Trottier is an Ontario based musician who is known internationally as a fiddler, singer, songwriter, and step dancer. Kelli has many solo recordings to her credit, is featured in the hit touring show “Bowfire” and has been nominated several times for Fiddle Player of the Year by the Canadian Country Music Association.



Timi Levy - violin and fiddle instructor
Timi Levy

Timi Levy is a professional violinist. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, she has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, National Ballet, Alberta Ballet, and throughout Europe. Timi has a Master’s equivalence as a chamber and violin musician and instructor. She taught private violin while residing in Calgary and now performs and teaches in Parrsboro, Amherst and surrounding areas.


Stacey Lynn Read
Stacey Lynn Read

Stacey Lynn Read is a new member to our Fiddle Camp family. She has three solo recordings under her belt and countless performances and awards won across Canada. After obtaining her degree in music, she has returned to Sackville NB where she spends her days teaching private students, and her nights performing with the band Masons Tender.  She is also a Marketing Associate the Riverview Arts Centre.


Skip Homes - guitar, banjo and fiddle instructor
Skip Homes

Skip Holmes plays guitar, banjo, and fiddle. He is a member of the Gordon Stobbe Trio and has collaborated with Gordon on a number of projects. Skip recorded and toured Canada and Britain with Richard Wood. He teaches at the Canadian Conservatory, and is in demand as an accompanist for Maritime fiddlers at concerts, dances, and recording sessions.



Cathy Sproule
Cathy Sproule

Cathy Sproule is another new member to our family of instructors at Fiddle Camp. Cathy is based in Saskatoon, where she is involved with a number of different musical ensembles and fiddle camps. Apart from being both a fiddler and an accompanist, she is a teacher and caller of traditional western Canadian square dances who is in constant and high demand for instruction.


Greg Simm - guitar instructor
Greg Simm

Greg Simm is a Dartmouth based multi-instrumentalist who has performed with numerous Canadian artists over the last thirty years including many notable Maritime performers such as Gordon Stobbe and Kendra MacGillivray. He currently conducts music and guitar workshops across Canada and offers music instruction privately in the Halifax and Dartmouth area.
