Ship’s Company Theatre Society Helps PRES Breakfast Program

PARRSBORO – Fore…Ship’s Company Theatre Society’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament is coming your way.

The theatre’s annual tournament is set to hit the fairway on September 23 at Parrsboro Golf Club. This spectacular event is sure to be a fun-filled day with special prizes great food and friendship.

The tournament is a fundraising effort in support of the theatre with proceeds from the tournaments ‘Putting Competition’ going to the Parrsboro Regional Elementary School’s Breakfast Program. The program provides elementary school students a healthy start to their day.

The schools principal Norma Collinson said the contribution is very much appreciated.
“We generally give the kids one thing in the morning, whether it’s juice, yogurt, granola bar or another source of a nutritional start to the day,” Collinson said.

Monies and breakfast foods come from various sources throughout the school community to help keep this program going.

“Sometimes we’ll buy grapes when they’re on sale and fill little cups We try to be creative and follow the food policy at the same time,” Collinson added.

The annual tournament is an 18 hole Texas Scramble with each golfer receiving a prize in addition to awards given out to top golfers in various categories.

In addition to prizes golfers will be treated to a delicious meal of barbeque steak and salads and all the trimmings.
