Brooke Johnson’s Trudeau Stories on Ship’s Company Theatre Stage

Noted theatre artist Brooke Johnson brings her solo show, Trudeau Stories, to the Ship’s Company Theatre stage on Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th.
Brooke has performed in Canadian theatres from the Bay of Fundy to the Foothills of the Rockies. She has won four Dora Mavor Moore Best Actress nominations for her work in Toronto theatres, and has two Gemini Awards for her work in television. She was awarded Best Actress at Majorca’s Festival del Mar, and received an ensemble acting award at the National Board of Review Awards in New York City.
Brooke’s past appearances in Nova Scotia have all been at Ship’s Company Theatre, where she played in three productions over three seasons, each directed by R. H. Thomson.
In 1985, while she was a student at the National Theatre School in Montreal, Brooke became friends with Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Through reminiscences, journal entries and correspondence, she brings to life the story of a remarkable friendship.
