Renowned musician and educator Jeff Goodspeed believes in the power of music, demonstrated in his groundbreaking initiative, the Los Primos Project. During a visit to Cuba, Goodspeed became aware of the talents of a group of young Cuban musicians, later inviting them to attend music camp at Acadia University. He then created an enterprise to support their learning and performance through the acquisition of musical instruments for their use.

Young Nova Scotian high-school musicians soon visited Cuba to play with their counterparts, following  which Goodspeed established a Canadian version of Los Primos – Spanish for ‘ The Cousins’.

Jeff Goodspeed is a dedicated and energetic music educator who relishes his work with these dynamic and gifted young people. Fullhouse, the Canadian contingent of Los Primos, will bring jazz with a Cuban flavour to Parrsboro’s Ship’s Company Theatre Concert Series on Monday, July 27th, joined by percussionist Keith Mullins.

Tickets for the 7:30 performance can be purchased by calling 902-254-3000. Visit our 2009 Season section for information about the exciting 2009 season.
