Thaddeus Holownia Exhibit Opening

Celebrating 25 Years of Live Theatre in Parrsboro

Ship's Company Theatre will celebrate its 2009 25th Anniversary season with the opening of a summer-long retrospective of images by renowned photographer Thaddeus Holownia.
Thaddeus Holownia is currently head of the Fine Arts Department at Mount Allison University. Holownia's photographic prints and bookworks have been acquired by the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Centre of Architecture, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the Confederation Centre for the Arts, as well as in numerous corporate and private collections. In 2000 Holownia was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. He received a Fullbright Fellowship in 2001 and the Paul Pare Medal in 1998 and 2006 from Mount Allison University in recognition of excellence in teaching, creative activity, research and community service.

Holownia's archival photographs of Ship's Company Theatre productions from years past will be featured on the upper level at the Destination Gallery, 219 Main Street in Parrsboro. The exhibit will open with a reception beginning at 12 noon on Saturday July 4th.
