Gordon Stobbe to lead Renowned Musicians at Ship’s Company Theatre!
by Rena Kossatz, Ship's Company TheatreThe May 2009 long weekend will be one of lively activity and tons of fun in the town of Parrsboro as a contingent of renowned and popular professional musicians, educators and recording artists gather to conduct Ship’s Company Theatre’s fourth annual Fiddle Camp.
Eager students of all ages will converge for two days of instruction in fiddle, piano accompaniment, guitar accompaniment and mandolin accompaniment, with community meals, jam sessions, concerts, and the fun of a square dance added for the enjoyment for all!

Widely known and respected fiddler and teacher Gordon Stobbe, a gregarious and highly entertaining host, will lead a vigourous and varied evening of traditional tunes and more
on Saturday at 7:30. Joining him will be renowned fiddler, singer and dancer of “Bowfire” fame, Kelli Trottier, Maritime fiddling favourite Kendra MacGillivray, distinguished violinist Timi Levy, piano man Geoff Horrocks, skilled accompanist Skip Holmes, and versatile musician Greg Simm, associate artist with Ship’s Company Theatre.
In addition to this very special musical event, a participants’ concert on Sunday evening at 7:30 will showcase the accomplishments of the fiddle camp students. Both the instructors’ and the participants’ concerts will take place at Ship’s Company Theatre on Main Street.
