The Publicans & Dan McKinnon set to take the stage

Led by the strong and true Irish tenor voice of John O'Keefe, The Publicans return to Parrsboro for the first time since their sold out show on St Patrick's Day. Multi - instrumentalist Rob Green (fiddle, pipes, penny whistle) has a kit bag full of tunes from the British Isles that guarantees to set toes -a-tappin'.
Hailing from L'Ardoise Cape Breton, Vince Burke (bass) is a well-known performer around the Maritimes as a solo performer and with his work with the popular Halifax band " The Crew ". Greg Simm (guitar), band leader for numerous sell out shows at Ship's Company Theatre including Lovesick Blues and Man in Black, rounds out the band. Whether you are a fan of Irish Rebel songs, great Celtic instrumentals or just good ole' sing along pub songs. hold on tight to your shillelagh and put the teapot on! The Publicans are onboard!
Joining the Publicans is an award-winning singer, guitarist, songwriter and historian, Dan McKinnon. His warm baritone voice, superb guitar arrangements and original compositions have won this native Nova Scotian widespread praise. Dan has been showcased at the Stan Rogers Folk Festival, The Miramichi Folksong Festival and the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival. He has also performed with Symphony Nova Scotia and toured Atlantic Canada and Ireland as part of an International Theatre Festival show about the life and times of Stan Rogers. His latest CD, Field of Dreams and Glory garnered two MIANS awards for Folk/Roots Recording of the Year and Male Artist Recording of the Year.
