New work is at the heart of our mandate at Ship’s Company Theatre. Without investment in new play development by government and by corporate and individual sponsors, the commissioning, developing and workshops of new plays could not be facilitated. New Play Development ultimately becomes a factor in the availability of new Canadian works for production. As a New Work Development Sponsor, you will invest in the growth of a new play to help to ensure a cache of original works for potential future production at Ships Company Theatre and at theatres across this country and beyond.

A New Play Development Workshop is scheduled to take place on September 20th and 21st at Ship’s Company Theatre in Parrsboro.
