Capital Campaign 2003

With your support, we built our New Theatre

New Ship's Company Theatre
New Ship's Company Theatre

In 2003 the Ship’s Company Theatre embarked upon a voyage to help secure its future. Under the leadership of then Artistic Producer Scott Burke, the process was begun and moved toward a permanent facility that would be an answer to the many facility challenges that faced the company.

Through the hard work and dedication of our many volunteers including the Past-President of the Board, Derek Flynn, the Chair of the New Facility Committee, Bruce McCulloch, and our Capital Project Consultant, Bruce Klinger, the project gathered momentum and eventually came to fruition.

Ship’s Company Theatre is grateful to all the levels of government that made this project possible through their generous contributions. The Government of Canada, the Province of Nova Scotia, and the Town of Parrsboro all realized the importance of the Ship’s Company Theatre in our community and provided crucial support.

The Board of Directors of Ship’s Company Theatre owes a great deal of gratitude to Paul and Stephen O’Regan for Co-chairing the Capital Campaign for the new Theatre. For many years the Ship’s Company has been the recipient of the very generous support of the O’Regan family and it is with their tireless efforts that private sector funding was secured for this new facility has been secured. Thank you both very much.

Ship’s Company Theatre would also like to thank all of the generous people who donated to our new theatre. We are charting a new course for the future and are thrilled that so many people care to invest in the future of this company and this community.

Over the years the Ship’s Company Theatre has been the recipient of the generous support of many volunteers and donors - it is with such support we have been able to continue bringing the best of Atlantic Canadian talent to the forefront of the Canadian Theatre scene. Thank you to all the dedicated volunteers and the hardworking staff who make the magic possible!

Ship’s Company Theatre has grown over the past twenty five years and will continue to flourish. The inaugural season in our new theatre marked the beginning of a new era for Ship’s Company!
