Instructors |
Gordon
Stobbe is considered a Master Fiddler. He was host and musical director
of the popular TV variety show Up Home Tonight for eight seasons. Gordon developed
a teaching program at Musicstop's Canadian Conservatory of Music in Halifax, and
is in demand as an instructor at fiddle workshops and fiddle camps across Canada
and the US. You can discover more about Gordon by visiting www.fiddlebooks.com.
Geoff
Horrocks is a "by ear" player. He plays piano, fiddle, and guitar, and
enjoys the thrill of accompanying fiddle players. Geoff loves to try to inspire
players by creating interesting chord arrangements "on the fly". He is involved
in recording projects, and teaches at fiddle camps as well as privately in Ottawa.
Greg
Simm is accomplished as a player in many musical styles, ranging from
country to traditional folk. He has been involved in recording projects as a
composer, musician, and producer. Greg has performed with notable Maritime
performers, including Gordon Stobbe, Natalie MacMaster, Richard Wood, Lenny
Gallant, Kendra MacGillivray, and John Gracie.

to Native children in Norway House, Manitoba.
Kendra MacGillivray brings fiddle music to life with her energetic performances.
An award-winning instrumental artist, Kendra shares her original compositions and
time-honoured traditional tunes in a myriad of regional and international venues.
Kendra has been in demand as a teacher of fiddle, piano accompaniment, and dance.
In 2003, she was named "Educator of the Year" by the Music Industry Assoc. of N.S.
