Acclaimed Abrams Brothers Band Brings Bluegrass/Gospel Music to Parrsboro
The Abrams Brothers, John and James, burst onto the music scene in 1999 at the ages
of nine and six, and haven’t looked back! Bluegrass Gospel music is the foundation for this group, whose multi-instrumental talents and tight family harmonies and strengths in the areas of jazz, blues, and new acoustic music have made them leaders in their field.
The Abrams Brothers Band offers three generations of musical talent on one stage, with Grandfather Wayne and father Brian on upright bass and guitar, and cousin Elijah Abrams on upright bass adding to the group’s musical versatility.
This highly acclaimed Canadian group gained international recognition in 2006 when they competed in an 18 day, four country, ten concert European Music Tour, with stops in Germany, Denmark, Switzerland and The Netherlands. John and James made their debut appearance on Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry stage in 2005, and have gone on to play numerous venues across North America. See www.theabramsbrothers.ca for more.
The Abrams Brothers are the recipients of the 2006-2007 Daniel Pearl Memorial Violin Award, awarded each year to musicians felt to be worthy in both musical talent and personal character. The Abrams Brothers cite this honour as one of their most meaningful moments since they began to play music, and plan to uphold the honour
of Daniel Pearl and The Daniel Pearl Foundation, an organization that promotes peace through music and the written word.
The Abrams Brothers will bring their sweet sounds to the Ship’s Company Theatre in Parrsboro on Monday, July 14th at 7:30 p.m. For tickets call 902-254-3000 or 1-800-565-SHOW or visit www.shipscompany.com.
