Renowned Musicians Share Time, Talent in Parrsboro
Ship’s Company Theatre will host renowned musicians and an assemblage of dedicated learners during their annual Fiddle camp, to be held in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia on the long weekend of May 16th, 17th
and 18th, 2008.
Led by master fiddler and music educator, Gordon Stobbe, individuals of all ages and varying levels
of musical experience will converge for a weekend of instruction and workshops. Maritime favourite award-winning instrumental artist, Kendra MacGillivray, will join the contingent this year, which includes respected teachers and performers Sherryl Fitzpatrick, Geoff Horrocks, Greg Simm and Skip Holmes.
A special treat within the weekend will be the Instructors’ Concert on Saturday, May 17th at 7:30 p.m., during which time Ship’s Company Theatre’s complete 2008 Season offerings will be revealed. On Sunday evening, camp participants will be showcased in a 7:30 public performance at the Theatre. All are welcome to attend.
This much-anticipated music camp brings together an eager and enthusiastic group for a guaranteed
good time, featuring great food and lots of family-style fun. One happy participant wrote, “ There were so many highlights on the weekend. The instructors were fantastic, the food was out of this world, the concerts were great, and all of you made us feel so welcome…”.
